Life as a Gratitude Offering
In this deepening of the final harvest season, it is only natural to turn our attention towards gratitude.
With the Earth energy waning into the Winter and the timeline of our year is in descent, we have the invitation to bring our awareness to all that which we have received, all that sustains us, all that has brought meaning into our life. As we honor the blessings we have experienced and received, it offers an energetic transmission to all those beings, human and more-than-human, that we are acknowledging. These waves of love and appreciation deepen our bonds and connection with one another.
All of this is an act of gratitude. Gratitude offerings and practices are amongst the most ancient and widespread in the human experience.
Take this time now to engage in a gratitude practice and meditation I shared this week in In Service to the Heart – my free weekly spiritual practice, Tuesdays at 9 a.m. eastern:
Offering gratitude is a state of being in which all aspects of ourselves participate and receive benefit from. Living as a fount of thanksgiving allows us to operate at our highest frequency of being.
In Earth-based practices, we concretize our gratitude with offerings. We make these offerings to the land, the spirits, the elements, the more-than-human support. Some of my personal practices include offerings to the Earth and Fire, making a spirit plate from our meals, playing the flute or singing songs to the elements and leaving offerings on various altars.
Gratitude, appreciation and thanksgiving is a practice that we weave into daily as a family, we practice it in our marriage, and I engage in it solo to re-hydrate nourishing experiences and re-activate the flow of good medicine energy that they bring.
I feel thankful to all of you for being here in this portal of sharing and for the many years of relationship that we experience in a variety of pathways. I feel thankful to be living my soul’s calling and supporting my family and community through this path. I am grateful for all the challenges, growth edges and soft spaces. I commit to engaging in gratitude more frequently in inner and outer ways as a nourishing way of being.
Blessings upon your gratitude path. May we rest and live from here as an antidote to these times.
